Kitchen Pantry
Food Pantry:  Maintains an emergency food pantry as an approved member of the local HACAP Food Reservoir, and CrossRoads coordinates its efforts to insure equal distribution of non-perishable food with other local food pantries.

Counseling and referral services
This is Listening at CrossRoads Mission!  So often those not in poverty cannot hear the voice of those in poverty.  CrossRoads Mission provides a Christian listening post, and when needed makes referrals to pastors, religious resources, and secular resources in the community where appropriate.  Listening to the voices of those who find their voice in the midst of their human suffering gives the Board of Directors at CrossRoads Mission future direction on the services provided to our Guests.

Changing Rooms Rescue Services
CrossRoads Mission has the resources to help guests and their families to rescue victims of domestic violence and the homeless.

The mission has clothes closets, changing and shower rooms, emergency food supplies and means to refer guests to services that will help provide them with a stable and safe environment.

Pastoral visits to jail and hospitals
The staff at CrossRoads Mission is on-call to make visits to the jail and health institutions to the guests and their families of the mission. Often-times the churched, under-churched, and un-churched of CrossRoads Mission do not have a friendly face to offer hope, prayer, and help to ease their anxiety in matters of health and behavior.

Human Services Referral and Advocacy
Without a concept of "one stop programming" in our mission field, we have found that many guests of CrossRoads Mission have difficulty navigating this system.
We help our Guests with compassionate referrals, and when needed advocacy, in an attempt to access a confusing system.  At the same time we educate our Guests so they can independently advocate for themselves in the future.

Equipping Christian Volunteers and Developing Volunteer Leadership Skill Sets  CrossRoads Mission takes willing people of faith and teaches them how to serve their neighbors in the tradition of Isaiah 58 and Matthew 25:31-46.  Learn to take your gifts from God, hope, and faith into action.  All of us have  gifts from God, and have been made stewards of God's gifts; now learn how to use them as God would have them used in local mission work in our community.  We also have programs for youth as well as adults; please call Pat Kane for more information at 981-1273.

Life  mentoring
In CrossRoads Mission's Christian listening post capacity, we also provide mentoring to our Guests in the area of secular decision-making, breaking free of the culture of poverty, and living in grace through faith.  We do not make decisions for our Guests, but we can provide information so that our Guests can make far better decisions for themselves.

Mission Health
Mission Health is a component of Barnabas Uplift.  A program sponsored by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dubuque, the three Iowa Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Muslim American Society of Iowa, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Lutheran Services in Iowa, ISED Ventures, State Public Policy Group, and the Iowa Health System.  CrossRoads Mission is a designated center to administer this program.  It allows those in poverty who do not have health insurance to receive free or dramatically reduced outpatient health care, and if they qualify free or reduced inpatient medical care.  CrossRoads Mission also makes referrals and assists Guests in accessing the free health clinicsin Linn County, the ABBE Center for Community Mental Health, and other available resources.
